So, it's come to this
If you’re reading this, I’m once again attempting to blog – god help me.

Flashback to 15 years ago: I was a freshman studying mass communications, and blogging was the cool kid thing. So, of course, without any actual experience or knowledge, but armed with a quirky blog name and some inflammatory thoughts, I dabbled in "writing", albeit sporadically.
Fast forward to 2023: I've spent a decade as a copywriter and creative director, yet writing for myself has become a daunting task. I've blamed it mostly on a scarcity of time, but the truth is that 18-year-old guy had something I've lost along the way: a mix of confidence and stupidity that allowed him not to constantly ask himself if his writing was good, or even, interesting.
Curiously, this paralysis vanishes when writing on assignment. Give me a good brief, and you'll have drafts in no time. But personal writing? Well, I was always too busy to deal with that particular blank page.
So, what's changed? At nearly 33, I certainly lack the boundless energy of my 18-year-old self, but lately, it seems like life experience also comes with some level of renewed confidence (and, admittedly, fewer hairs). The pandemic, like for many, prompted introspection. Confronting oneself with stark honesty is daunting, but it led to some self-discovery – the good, the bad, and everything in between.
And so, here we are. I'm writing a blog (in English for some reason), mostly because I want to do it, but also because I have some projects I'm getting an itch to publish somewhere. Most of them are geeky side projects in home automation and experiments with ChatGPT, but I may also muse on advertising and maybe share some of my journey in teaching myself Figma. Whether these posts resonate or drift into the void, it's something I feel like sharing.
TL;DR: I'm Jose, a creative director and copywriter who dabbles in video editing and tech projects for fun. I might take the scenic route in storytelling, but that's also the reason I'm fun at parties.
Nice to meet you. Let's see where this goes.

I also, sometimes, write short sci-fi stories in Medium (in spanish).
